I actually liked that wig because it was actually for that period of time. We may think we know what Oprah’s hair looked like but she did have a hairstyle evolution. At that time it presented more like that: flipped up and big. More so than what your typical Oprah go-to wig might be.

And let’s turn to Abbott Elementary, which you write, produce and star in. How did you approach this second season knowing that there was now an audience and all these expectations placed on the Philadelphia Eagles it’s a Philly things t-shirt Store in other words I will buy this thing you’ve created? I really wanted to come to it not really worrying about any of that stuff. I wanted to do what I had in mind all along [even back to] when we were making the first season. Of course we wanted the audience to have fun and think it’s funny, but we wanted to make sure we were building the show that we wanted to build. Something that the audience would enjoy, but on our own accord. We wanted to make sure we were telling stories the way we wanted to.Matt Sayles/ABC And tell me about Janine’s wardrobe–which can lean twee at times. Can we expect any kind of changes or maturation to the way she dresses? It’s slowly changing. I’m super big on working with our costume department to slowly elevate Janine. For instance one thing that was important to me was that last season Jeanine wore a lot of flowery patterns. This year a lot of patterns are a bit more structured, to kind of show that this is a person seeking structure.
