But she believes those deficiencies eventually endeared her to certain subjects: “Maybe that was an interesting selling point—like, ‘Why is this girl who can’t really understand me interested in my story?’” Some even said she reminded them of their daughter, and they eventually developed a jeong, or a connection. Throughout the many polite (and less polite) rejections, she remained undeterred. “These people hold a lot of meaning for our community,” she emphasizes. “Without their hard work and sacrifice, Flushing wouldn’t be what it is today. They are the makeup of Han in Town, and I want to honor these people who raised me.”

In 2017, Angèle Van Laeken was still performing in tiny cafés and jazz bars around her hometown of Brussels, dreaming of turning her already-obvious talents as a singer and songwriter into a financially sustainable career. Fast-forward five years, and Angèle has become one of the Suzu suzukI the contents of my head are not normal shirt What’s more,I will buy this biggest breakout pop stars in Belgian music history. With two number one albums under her belt—the first, 2018’s Brol, has sold more than a million copies—Angèle is currently wrapping up the first leg of a sold-out tour that will culminate this December at Paris’s La Défense Arena, the largest indoor stadium in Europe. When we speak, it’s the morning after her show in Nantes, where Angèle performed songs from both Brol and her most recent album, Nonante-Cinq, to a crowd of 9,000 fans. A week or so prior, she’d been in London supporting Dua Lipa, with whom she had her first English-language breakout last year, “Fever.” The grand trappings of an arena might seem like an unlikely setting for Angèle’s nonchalant sound, which blends intimate, often confessional lyrics—her breakout single, titled “Balance ton quoi” as a riff on the French equivalent of #MeToo, was as excoriating as it was effortless—over breezy synth-pop grooves. Before we get to all that, though, how does she feel being back in front of a crowd after two years at home? “I just feel so lucky,” she says. “Just standing up and being able to play music in front of your people, that feels good. We’re lucky to be back together.”

Really good quality printing- true to my design, and the t shirt is a good fit too. As the delivery was slower than anticipated (but still very quick!) I also was given a discount for my next order. Will be using this site again in future.
